VIP CONTENT DAY: WEDDING MAKEUP ARTIST

From “Phone-on-a-Tripod Content” to a Full Bridal Content Library

The Client: Brittney Eileen Beauty

Like many bridal artists, Brittney books most of her clients through social media and understands how important strong visuals are in the decision-making process for brides.

On wedding days, Brittney is able to capture some content, but always in a very limited way (usually a phone on a tripod) because her top priority is never interfering with a client’s wedding day experience. She wanted elevated photos and videos that showcased not just the final bridal look, but her as the artist behind it, along with specific marketing pieces designed to attract future bridal clients.

The Challenge

  • Wedding days move quickly, making it impossible to capture trends, talking videos, or intentional angles without interrupting clients

  • Most professional photos from wedding days focus on the bride, not the makeup artist

  • Lack of a content library that highlighted Brittney’s expertise, personality, and experience

  • Uncertainty around what types of content to post and how to structure a cohesive shoot

our strategy:

To solve these challenges, we recommended a VIP Half Day (4-hour) content shoot designed to recreate the bridal experience in a controlled environment.

The goal was to showcase Brittney’s experience and expertise by having two “brides” come into the studio for full hair and makeup. This allowed us to capture content from angles Brittney never gets on real wedding days including shots where Brittney was the main focus, with the bride intentionally secondary in frame.

We handled planning end-to-end, including a kickoff meeting, detailed shot list, creative guide, assistance sourcing models, scene development, and a clear shoot-day timeline. We also incorporated content for a special announcement Brittney was preparing: her transition to going full-time in her business.

on shoot day:

On the day of the VIP Content Day, our Londonderry studio was transformed to align with Brittney’s bright, clean bridal brand aesthetic.

The team included two TSHQ team members, a bridal hair stylist, two models, and Brittney. Our approach was hands-on and highly guided. As Brittney worked on makeup, we prompted her with questions to capture mini talking videos, mic’d and un-mic’d her as needed, and balanced fly-on-the-wall b-roll with intentional talking content. Once makeup was complete, we transitioned into posed content featuring both Brittney and the models.

We captured:

  • Fly-on-the-wall b-roll during makeup application

  • Talking videos while Brittney worked on clients

  • Formal, direct-to-camera talking videos

  • Trend-based clips and transitions

  • Action shots and branding photos

  • Finished bridal looks and detail/product shots

Scenes included two seamless backdrops (white and tan) and a custom “bridal suite” setup created in-studio to match Brittney’s branding. Brittney brought her makeup chair, and we sourced a tan seamless backdrop to ensure everything felt cohesive and on-brand.

the results:

With just one VIP Half Day, Brittney walked away with:

  • 255 high-quality photos

  • 50+ raw video clips ready for creating

  • 10 fully edited, ready-to-post videos

  • A complete content library she could use across Instagram, her website, proposals, and bridal onboarding materials

Since the shoot, Brittney has seen increased engagement, started using the content throughout her client touchpoints, and received so much interest that she booked a second content day.

“I’ve never been more obsessed with a photoshoot in my life. Thank you!!!!”

FROM OUR CLIENT

big takeaway:

For bridal makeup artists, great marketing goes beyond before-and-after photos. Brides want to see the experience of how you work, communicate, and the level of care you bring to their wedding day.

By creating a mix of behind-the-scenes content, educational talking videos, and personality-driven visuals, Brittney can now show up online as both the artist and the expert. This builds trust long before a bride ever inquires and turns her social media into a powerful extension of her client experience.
